Set up Zoho Bookings

Connect Zoho Bookings with your BitPalm agent. It shares your booking page, or books appointments right in Zoho Bookings.

Set up your service in Zoho Bookings

You need a Zoho Bookings account with the service your agent should offer, for example Consultation, with its duration, staff and working hours.

Every Zoho Bookings plan works, including the free one.

Optional: create a Self Client

Direct booking is optional. Without it, your agent shares your booking page. With it, the agent books the time in Zoho Bookings itself. For that Zoho needs a Self Client.

  1. Open the Zoho API Console and sign in with the Zoho account that runs your Zoho Bookings. Accounts in Europe use api-console.zoho.eu.
  2. Click Add Client, choose Self Client and confirm. Copy the Client ID and the Client Secret from the Client Secret tab.
  3. Open the Generate Code tab, enter the scope below, choose 10 minutes, add any description and click Create. Copy the code.

The code is only valid for 10 minutes, so do the next step right away.

Optional: get the refresh token

Exchange the code for a refresh token. Run this command in a terminal and replace the three values. accounts.zoho.eu is for Europe, use accounts.zoho.com in the US and accounts.zoho.in in India.

Zoho answers with a few values. Copy the one after refresh_token.

The refresh token stays valid until you revoke it in the API Console. If you'd rather not use a terminal, write to us and we'll help.

Connect it in BitPalm

In your BitPalm dashboard, open your agent, go to Tools and open Book appointments with Zoho Bookings.

  1. Paste your booking page link into Booking page link. That is all you need to start.
  2. For direct booking, also fill in Zoho data center, Client ID, Client secret and Refresh token. Service is only needed if you have several services, enter its name as it appears in Zoho Bookings.
  3. Save and switch the tool on.

The client secret and refresh token are stored encrypted (AES-256) and are never shown in full again.

Test it

Open your agent's chat and ask for an appointment, for example:

  • "I'd like to book a consultation"
  • "Do you have time on Friday at 10?"

With direct booking the appointment lands in Zoho Bookings right away and shows up under Appointments in your dashboard. If the time is taken, the agent shares your booking page instead.

Without direct booking the agent shares your booking page and the visitor picks a time there.
